Arrange students in cooperative groups. They will use their knowledge and experiences as they address the following directions. The teacher will have a preselected group of articles or objects that has been placed in a bag. A known member from each group will, without looking, select one object. Each group member should analyze the selected object for a few moments, they will be instructed to: 1. Give your object/article one human quality.
2. Describe two ways in which your object is beautiful. 3. Think of 3 ways your object is or can be handy. 4. Give four explanations why you love and respect your object. 5. Give two ways in which you can boost your object’s self-esteem and make it feel respected and needed. The organizations should get 15 to half an hour to complete the directions. Each group will then share their information, detailing what its object was and the procedure and rationale the mixed group used in completing the instructions. Follow-up discussion should concentrate about how the students were able to take an inanimate object and present it positive attributes.
